Hopefully that will be enough incentive to click over to The Film Experience, where I just did a round-up of everything we know (or at least all that I know - I don't know if you know more than I know) about Park Chan-wook's next movie Stoker, which Till joined the cast earlier this week and I've been blathering about like a lunatic, because I am in fact a lunatic.

What? No it's not quite enough incentive? Okay then here's a pic of Matthew Goode for good(e) measure. That oughta do the trick.

I Am Link

.
--- Rah Rah Rosario - There have been several very cool casting announcements (or rumors) coming out today, and this one's arguably the coolest: Rosario Dawson, lady I love and cry about getting no respect every time she shows up in terrible movies which is far too often, has joined the cast of Danny Boyle's new movie Trance. Finally, some respect! A good-to-great filmmaker using her again. Happy news. Also joining the cast is Vincent Cassel, which was rumored already (he's taking the part Michael Fassbender almost took). Trance stars James McAvoy and Cassel as some sort of art thieves, and DH says Rosario's character "has an unusual relationship with both men."

--- Stoker Sweetie - Fighting it out with the above news for coolest casting of the day is Jackie Weaver, so incredibly chilling in Animal Kingdom, getting a role in Park Chan-wook's Stoker. This you should recall is his first English-language film and it already stars Mia Wasikowska and Nicole Kidman and Matthew Goode (his casting news here). Very happy to see Weaver popping up again in something outside of Australia. No word on what her part will be.

--- Honest Pace - And then we hear that Lee Pace is joining the cast of Steven Spielberg's Abe Lincoln bio-pic! Ya know, Pace is tall and skinny enough to have played Abe himself if they were going younger. But no, they had to go with the completely talentless Daniel Day Lewis! Anyway Lee's playing the mayor of New York. And his part will probably be too tiny because Lee Pace is never given big enough parts to satisfy us. (Insert "But Lee could give me his big part to satisfy me anytime" line here)

--- He Smash - In an interview at the LAT Marvel president Kevin Feige talks about what the Hulk will be like in Joss Whedon's Avengers movie. Supposedly there will be more of Mark Ruffalo to his face then there was of Eric Bana or Ed Norton in their respective films.

--- Mobbed Mentality - I hope this casting rumor turns out to be only rumor because I don't want my beloved wading into this thick den of Scientologists - Dominic Cooper's rumored to be taking a role in that Gotti bio-pic that Barry levinson's making that's already got John Travolta and Kelly Preston and Al Pacino. Dom would supposedly play Gotti's son, Gotti being played by Travolta. Ugh stay away from Travolta, Dominic! Stay away from all of it! Just the thought of the porcupine hair alone, ugh.

--- Got Guts - Universal Studios: Hollywood is building an elaborate Halloween maze based on the Hostel films by Eli Roth for their Fall season. I want to go to this so bad I can taste the blood spurting from my severed tongue.

When we got word of the Toronto International Film Festival's slate yesterday, I listed off several films I'd kill to see there (even though I probably won't be going). There were a bunch! Looks like an excellent year. Well five minutes later the fine people at TIFF released pictures for most of their films, and a lot of these were our very first looks at these films. Like the ones that I already posted from director Steve McQueen's reunion with Michael Fassbender, Shame, for instance. Well there are other instances of this sort, having to do with movies I'm crazy excited over, and I feel it my duty to post them lest they go unposted, which apparently is the sort of thing that could cause my fragile psyche to swirl the drain. We wouldn't want that, would we? Well let's get on with it then.

First up are 5 new pictures from Todd Solondz's Dark Horse

It stars, as you can see there, Christopher Walken and Mia Farrow (!!!) and Selma Blair and Jordan Gelber. We don't know a whole lot about DH yet; TIFF describes it as "Todd Solondz creates an intimate dark comedy about a manchild whose desire for a romantic relationship runs smack into reality, " while IMDb says "Romance blooms between two thirty-somethings in arrested development: an avid toy collector and a woman who is the dark horse of her family." I'm guessing Gelber and Blair are the ones falling in love.

Here's a new shot from Pedro Almodovar's The Skin I Live In:

If anybody can make Antonio Banderas sexy again, it's Almodovar.

Here's a shot of Michael Shannon in Take Shelter:

I could've sworn I wrote about this movie once before but I can't find the post so maybe I dreamed it.  It's from the director of Shotgun Stories, which Shannon was fantastic in. It co-stars Jessica Chastain.

This shot of Tilda and John C. Reilly in We Need To Talk About Kevin is sticking a finger in the wound that is the fact that I'm not seeing this movie right now and must wait:

I didn't take note of Burning Man when looking through the list of TIFF movies the first time but it apparently stars Matthew Goode who obviously grabs one's interest right quick, face-wise. He plays some sort of hopelessly sexy chef beset by distracting womenfolk! Yeah I probably won't see this unless Goode takes his clothes off then.

And finally here are two shots from Sarah Polley's next film Take This Waltz, which stars Michelle Williams and Seth Rogen. Give it to me!

That's someone named Luke Kirby in the second shot with Michelle, and he is adorable. Here he is in his underpants in some other movie. Ending things on a bright but random  note!

Just the other day an anonymous commenter left a comment on my recent Eric Bana in wet long-johns post remarking upon the fact that they'd never seen the above shot of a naked Matthew Goode in A Single Man captured on the internet. Well there you go, anonymous! Don't say I never did nothing for ya. But wait, there's actual Matthew Goode news this morning to go along with that! God forbid we be gratuitous for gratuitous sake, of course. Via BD:

"With Mia Wasikowska and Nicole Kidman set to star and brothers Ridley and Tony Scott producing, [Park Chan-Wook's] English language debut, Stoker, is beginning to look like a star-studded event.

Last we heard, Colin Firth was being courted for the lead male role in the film, which follows a teenage girl who must deal with the unexpected appearance of a mysterious uncle while mourning the death of her father. Variety just got word that Matthew Goode is in talks for the part."

Well apparently they're looking to narrow the age difference between 21 year old Mia and her uncle if they're choosing 33 year old Goode over 50 year old Firth. But still, it's funny that they're just picking the other gay from A Single Man for the role, innit?
