You guys are wrong.

1) The new fee for I-485 is a package fee (includes EAD and AP)
2) EADs and APs are included as long your adjustement application is pending.

The attorney informed us that both our EAD's were received today.

The point here is the original ead expiry date was 10/15/2008. The new EAD expiry is 07/15/2010 and not 10/14/2010.

Its validity is not 2 years from the original expiry but 2 years from the current approval date.

Are others getting it the same way?

Recently received interview letter, scheduled for Sep,3rd.

1. My interview time is 8:15AM and my wife has at 8:45AM. Does it mean we should appear separately or can we go together?

2. Is I-140 approval copy required? Interview letter does not say anything about it.

3. My attorney is not coming since he is too far from my place. Can I take any local attorney? Does it require applying G-28 again?

Go with Old Passport, new passport and all visa documents and I -94

Explain the situation to the officer and he/she should be able to rectify at the time of appointment.
Officer will put the new date on the existing I -94 and update the system and on the card itself. No new I - 94 will be issued.

Friends Need Advise Please!

My 485 packet reached NSC on July 2 with an approved 140 from TSC and no CC or receipts yet. My 140 has LUD of 08/12. God only knows where my 485 packet is lying. I applied for my 1st H1 extension at VSC which has a receipt date of July 12. I am planning to upgrade my H1B application to premium because my drivers license is expiring on Sep 30.
My questions here is,
1) Would there be any problem if my H1b is approved in premium with a new I-94 while my 485 is still lying with USCIS with out the recipts.
2) Would a new I-94 jeopardize my 485.
3) Is there any relation between H1B extension and 485 receipting.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

there are no issues: your H1 and 485 are independent (until the 485 is approved, at which point your H1 is invalid). Until then, even if you have filed your 485, whether you have receipts or not you can keep filing extensions and getting new I-94s. You can also transfer your H1 around (better to do after 180 days and invoke AC21) whether you have a 485 receipt or not.

dont worry, go ahead and bump up your H1 extension to PP. As long as you qualify for the extension (LC >365 days or 140 approved) you will get it and your 485 continues getting processed independently.

pappu, the only way the labor can be transferred to new company is if the 485 has been filed for more than 180 days.
in this case, since he is unable to file 485 due to retrogression, the labor is not transferable. what may be transferable is the priority date.

When you search by Nationality, it doesnt return any results.
Once you search by Category (EB), it returns results, but then when you try to sort by a column heard, it loses this restriction.

Also, the sorting doesnt seem to work.

If with 25,000 members, raising $30,000 is difficult, there is some problem. One of the problem defenetly it is not open - even I asked, how can I start a thread, I did not get answer.

I think, core team to get into action to motivate people - as an example I am now so much demotivatied that thinking not visiting this site.

Core team firefights members all the time and puts off flames and at the same time runs the organization. Their dedication has always been extremely high.

Just because your question is not answered, does not mean there is something wrong in the organization.

IV is a volunteer organization and everyone are unpaid volunteers. We do not have a full time professional who works for money here who can attend to customer service calls on a 1-800 number.

If people are not contributing, does not mean core team has to be blamed. If you have noticed, there is a surge in contributions.

Yes, in an ideal world, 25000 members contribute, we have no issues. Can you take up some responsibility and run the finding drive? People are taking turns to run the funding drive. You are most welcome to help us. If you can convince 25000 people to contribute, it will be awsome

Yes. Travelling through Europe has become a big hassle these days. Avoid the London route. It is the worst. I have travelled via Frankfurt (Lufthansa) several times. But Lufthansa is getting troublesome too these days.

The South Asian route via Singapore is the best. SIA In- flight service is excellent and you will notice a marked difference in their "attitudes". I have heard about China Airlines too. You might want to check that out as well.

Folks, a lot of GC aspirants (like myself) are some of the best and the brightest people in the world,yet we are struggling in our lives due to this immigration mess created by an immigration system which is downright archaic and discriminatory.
Our only fault is that we are ambitious and we want to succeed in the land of opportunities .We have this almost uncanny optimism to see light at the end of this immigration tunnel that seems to have no end.Yet everday we login to IV and other immigration websites to see if our fate has changed overnight,if the prority numbers became current,if the priority dates moved up by 6 months(and God forbids down by 3 years),if the HR5882 passed or it didn't because the senate decided to take the "horse rights" bill .Yet, we talk about flower campaigns to somehow make our voices heard, to somehow defend ourselves from the media assault launched by people like lou dobbs who constantly equate us with the illegals.We somehow try to do a failed attempt to distinguish our selves from the those guys who jump over from mexico border and work as labourers.We want to shout at the top of our lungs that we are not illegals, we are pefectly legal people who came to this great country of opportunities upon the invitation of US employers,we are doctors,engineers,scientists and phDs who probably pay more social security taxes then average population and who may never get that money back.All we want in return is a way for us and our spouses to work and live a decent life and live out the American dream without being exploited by the employers who is hell bent upon screwing us.This country is greatest in the world but somebody needs to hear the genuine voices coming from this strata of society.I have full faith that this country has the basic values of equality ingrained in system and we need to do our part to make sure those values are upheld when it comes to legal immigrants.

Please keep doing your part and one day we'll see the light at the end of this tunnel.The rights of legal immigrants will certainly one day find preference over the rights of horses.

one way i am thinking of doing is asking for a EVL from the new company with the same kind of job description. 10 years ago, all these laws (to be in the same job description was having some meaning , people used to get GCs in less than a year), but these days it takes anywhere between 5-7 years, and how can uscis expect someone to be in the same description working for 7 years. it just doesnt make sense when you want to be competitive in the market.
