what does this mean? does that mean my computer needs to be down-graded to DirectX 7?
Or of what i was thinking, that SDL can only "wrap" its self around DirectX 7, and if you wanted to use a higher DirectX you dont have SDL to help?

Dream act just proves that nothing will be done for hard working non shitizens. Legals should work and wait or leave as they dont have any DREAM. And yes we got a spineless president on that.

If DREAM act does not pass then we will not go anywhere for the next 2 years....and how do you intend to prove that you were brought into this country illegally before you turned 16? I guess you'll have to forge your high-school degree? voila...go for it!

How will you get the papers signed without them being here? You also need recent passport size photos of them as well for AP document.

You can differ filing EAD and AP at a later date.

Apparently TSC is having some difficulty with their online system. My lawyer told me this this week.

I understood from a congressmans office that my case was with an officer on October 8th and I would hear a response within 45 days.

Nothing happened and have now been told following a service request that if I do not hear anything within six months to contact the customer service again.

From my perspective being told your case is with an officer means absolutely nothing at all.

I am not sure which location you went to. I went to the infopass in Newark, NJ and I was able to get status on name check. They could not give any other information, but they were able to tell me that my name check was complete.

As mentioned in an earlier post, you can always leverage your Congressman.

bumping again... my apologies...

My wife has changed her status from H4 to F1 in last
year. She will be on F1-studies till July mid
of this year. Few weeks back she got her EAD for her
F1-OPT, which will start on Aug 15 of this year.

As I am going to file AOS for her and also EAD, will
she able to work on her OPT-EAD till she gets her
I-485 EAD? Or She need to wait till she gets her
I-485 EAD to work?

As far as I know she need to wait till she gets her EAD of 485.
I sent a mail to lawyer he did not respond yet.
She is going to meet her international advisor on this sometime next week
, but he does not seem to be an expert in this area.

via regular mail. There is no tracking available. If it is lost, it is lost. That is what I hate about both the EAD and AP process.:mad:

In my experience, the AP has been received anywhere from 4 days to 7 days after "the document has been mailed" notice.

Sounds discouraging BUT from my experience and from my RESEARCH on this forum, I also think that, 4 - 7 days is the normal receipt time. In my case, unfortunately, its been 12 days already. :(

But, SS777 states, he has experienced anywhere from 3 - 20 days. I will take that. :)

Can others please chime in with their experience in terms of how many days they had to wait once they noticed their case status was changed to, "Document has been mailed"?

Yahoooooooooooooo......We (Me and my wife) received welcome notice today . Our 485 is approved on 25 th March.

no updates online just received postal mail from USCIS today .

I guess end of long wait , been in country from 2001 .

I wish you all the best and hang in there if your PD is current you can expect the notice any time so keep checking your postal mail box .

FYI - I dont know if my back ground check is clear or not , I guess it is .

But I am still confused on entering USA. I read on all the forums, you can enter usa with a Transfer Receipt if your h1 stamp is still valid.

So thats something i am trying to sort out.

Paper filed too... 2 main reasons.

No FP required at local office(so no day off... no kids hassle...)
With e-file you anyway need to send documents via post......

Beside Paper file is easy to self file so no cost difference....

All of them might not be applicable for all, but found this on another forum ...

1 - New SSN to get rid of pesky legend "requires INS authorization..."
2 - SSN for wife
3 - Drivers license for wife without pesky legend "temporary for one yr or until H1 validity...", etc.)
4 - Update I-9 form with employer
5 - Someone here said let your mortgage company know about GC if you own a home, not sure why?
6 - Do not hand over the I-94 card to the airlines/immigration offices at the airport. Keep it or through away
7 - Do not need to carry anything other then Passport and Green Card when travelling

Ok move over Prez elections..what happens in 09 after the Prez election..the current senate is the same..which refuses to pass any immi bill..just because the Prez elections will get over this year..why are we expecting that next year any bill will pass??..

So Lobby , more lobbying and extreme lobbying..is the way to go..!!I dont see any other way out;)

Why we are expecting that something next year? One Word. Politics. The current congress will not do anything now, because, they dont want to alienate 1 particular group during an election year. Now, I am not saying that they will do anything in '09. But, with more lobbying, we might see some success.
