It's the perfect scheme! Jake and Maggie's parents got divorced a couple of years ago, and this weekend his father got remarried to some brunette lady seen there. She's the one in the wedding dress. Anyway, she's a smart cookie and I salute her! She's gotten herself into the Gyllenhaal family! It can't be too long until she's washing Jake's unmentionables when he comes over to the house for holidays, and then from there it's only a hop skip and a lunge towards seducing the son. I can only hope that Mama Gyllenhaal is still single - I'm coming for you, Naomi! (pics via)

Jake's back to shooting End of Watch again and so his head's shaved again and via IHJM comes those blessed pictures. That is just the angle I was hoping for! Yes. (prev pics here) And didja all see Bald Matt Damon earlier today? We're having a bald moment!

So I got so distracted by the day-earlier-than-expected arrival of my copy of A Dance With Dragons that I rushed home and dove into that and totally spaced on the fact that Jake's episode of Man vs. Wild was on last night! (prev. post) Thankfully the DVR should've captured it and I'll watch it tonight, but for now some kind soul went and gave us these wonders, promises of what I have in store.
Did anybody watch it? Apparently, unsurprisingly, blessedly, it involved them taking off some clothes in the freezing cold. Thank you, Bear Grylls. I owe you one.

A trailer's been released for Jake Gyllenhaal's possibly sexy sojourn into the icy wilds of Iceland with Bear Grylls (you can see it below, via) - and if you missed it last week I made a list of gay stuff that could happen on this trip that I found pretty damned amusing, personally - but for now let's just look at that screen-cap up top and marvel at the adorableness. GOD. Why'd ya have to go and make The Face, Jake? That's nearly the same face you made when Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph talked about your mother on Bronx Beat or when you held that puggle.
I have no defense against that damn face! And here I was right now all angry at you for these new lady rumors, flirting with that unspeakable woman, my current arch-nemesis, which seemed designed primarily to hurt me and me alone! By now you've probably heard that Jake Gyllenhaal will be guest-starring on the season premiere of Bear Gryll's "fun time in the outdoors" show Man Vs. Wild on July 11th on the Discovery Channel. (Set your Tivos!) They'll be taking on the wilds of Iceland, apparently. Now I've only seen a minute or two of Bear's show before - usually the more ridiculous clips that The Soup highlights - but I've seen enough to have several possible scenarios instantly cloud up my brain wherein Bear could show Jake all about roughing it. Not that Jake's a stranger to huddling up in a pup-tent, of course, but let's take a look at the scenarios all the same, eh?
Constantly Getting Naked - Bear Grylls has never been confronted with an obstacle in nature that can't be met head-on by taking off all of his clothes. If you think the fact that they're gallivanting around in an icy wintry setting is enough to keep Bear dressed, think again.
Getting Peed On - I don't know if there are jellyfish in the freezing cold waters of Iceland, something tells me there aren't, but maybe they'll find one in a hot spring beside a volcano! Or maybe Bear will just pull one out of his rucksack and throw it on Jake's face at some point. I don't care how it happens. (Now I couldn't find an example of this actually happening on MVW, but taking into consideration what's to come, let's just set aside those doubts.)
Drinking his own pee - Speaks for itself, I suppose.
Never know when you might get thirsty.

Apparently Colin Firth, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jim Carrey and Hugh Grant were all approached to take roles in the film, before it was decided to go for younger leads. Philip Seymour Hoffman, Olivia Wilde and Melanie Laurent all have offers out to them."

It's not that I don't love you. Blogger's just been down for 24 hours or so, baby. I promise. I wasn't out with any other younger, sexier readers. You gots my word! What's that? My word's no good?
