The World By Fassbinder

.

Shame that this is news to me so late in the game, since I try to keep up on the Fassbinder-beat whenever there's a Fassbinder-beat to be had - him being dead for just about thirty years now has admittedly dampened the beat a bit - but according to Slash his 1973 sci-fi flick World on a Wire is getting a slight round of distribution this year!

I saw the film at MoMA back in April of last year and it's a trip, kinda dissimilar to anything else I've seen by RWF in a lot of ways... while being totally him at the same time. That makes total sense! But anything with the lovely and amazing special-effect that is Barbara Valentin in it is gonna reek of Fassbinder, after all. That's a beautiful new poster for the movie up top from designer Sam Smith, and here are the dates and places where the film will be exhibited. See it if you can!

June 24-26 – Pacific Cinematheque, Vancouver
