I Am Link

.
--- Space Snaps - Some brave nerd snapped pictures of the footage they showed of Ridley Scott's Prometheus at Comic Con and those have made their way online, for now. You can see them at Dread Central, for now. There's Michael Fassbender to the left staring intently at a tiny thing, and there are equally grainy looks at Noomi Rapace and Charlize Theron and Idris Elba in their costumes and lots of moody Alien looking sets, if you so desire. Gotta say I got a thrill seeing that moody world restaged, even if I don't have a whole lto of faith in Ridley Scott anymore. Great cast, at least.

--- Wiig's Boy Toy - Since I don't watch Glee I haven't had a reason to post any pictures of Glee star Darren Criss - and since I don't watch Glee I've never seen him act, ever - but here he is signing on to co-star in that Kristen Wiig dark comedy called Imogene that we spoke of a few weeks back so hello excuse. He's playing Kristen's love interest! Ha that is awesome. Cradle robber! Also at that same link is word that Annette Bening is playing Wiig's mother in the movie.

--- Havoc Back - Lucas Till, who was a bit block-of-woodish in X-Men Muppet Babies 0but still looked good in his sleeveless sweatshirt, is the latest name added to the cast of Park Chan-wook's English language debut called Stoker. Just the other day Jackie Weaver joined the cast that already included Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman and Matthew Goode.

--- Emo Bug - ComingSoon has an ultra his-res set of those pictures of Andrew Garfield & Co. in The Amazing Spider-Man that we've been looking at for a few weeks now. But no butt shot! That's the one want the hi-res of, dang it! Although we haven't seen that one there without the EW cover type all over it so that's welcome too.

--- Bane On Bat - Chris Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises is filming outside a lot so we're getting lots of pictures from the set, including lots of Tom Hardy in his Bane costume. Weird that we've seen no Anne Hathaway, isn't it? See some here and more here. This one's my favorite:

I think I end up doing something akin to this every year - scanning through EW's galleries of celebrities at Comic Con and posting my favorites, that is. This year though, man it seems like I've snatched up a lot. Have I just gotten geekier? Am I reaching Total Geek Capacity??? Oh noes! Meh, mostly it just seems there were more hot guys standing around then usual is all I think this means. Speaking of, look at what I did! I crammed a bunch of hot guys all next to each other in one epic picture! (Click to embiggen)

L-R: Chris Carmack, Chris Zylka, Dustin Milligan and Sinqua Walls from Shark Night 3D; Chevy Chase and Joel McHale, Community; Max Minghella, Joel Kinnaman and Emile Hirsch from The Darkest Hour; Chris Hemsworth and Sam Claflin, Snow White and the Huntsman, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Covert Affairs; Noted Homosexual Luke Evans, Henry Cavill, Kellan Lutz and Stephen Dorff from Immortals.

Ha ha Emile Hirsch looks so tiny next to Chris Hemsworth,
it is ridiculous. Yadda yadda, here's a bunch more.

I'd like to see this in Apple HD immediately, thank you whoever's listening and can do that, but here's the less-than-HD teaser trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man. (via)

.
That POV shot at the end is absolutely killer - it's the sort of thing that makes you want to be sitting in a theater seeing the movie right this second. Without getting into my review of Captain America just yet, it's the sort of imaginative knock-your-socks-off haven't-seen-that-before film-making that we need to see more of in these superhero movies. Also in that vein is Andrew Garfield in a tank-top.

Peter Parker is a Rear Window fan!

That's Andy Garfield on some Brit-show called Sugar Rush
(via) Anybody seen any of it? Is it just Andy dancing around
in his underpants for hours? Because I'll get right on that, if so.

Unless they wander into straight-up cos-play pornography I don't know that they'll top that shot that they released yesterday of Andy's be-costumed bum for sheer awesomeness ever, but I do find this picture of Garfield and Chris Zylka as the school bully Flash Thompson (a character that was played in the first Sam Raimi movie by Joe "Big Man" Manganiello!) pretty amusingly corny.

It looks like something out of Archie Comics somehow doesn't it? (Oh my god I loved that live-action Archie TV movie.) Not that there's anything wrong with that necessarily - Spidey's always been silly, and these new pictures are seeming very silly. They did mention they were going "darker" in tone at one point though, and these make me question that. Anyway see a few more pictures at this link.

Okay are they kidding me with that picture? Is there a camera crew filming me secretly right now for some modern-day Candid Camera type situation? Well I'm sorry to tell you crafty jokers but there's no way you can use this footage cuz it's getting all X-rated up in this business right quick.

Earlier we saw the cover of the new Entertainment Weekly with most of Andy's front-side, and now EW's released a gallery with several more pictures, including the above spider-bum shot, and the below shirtless shot.

I find it so odd that I have to defend the hotness of Andrew Garfield so much to people. Are people just blind? Is that it? Is this that Julianne Moore movie? Cuz if it is I am not having any sex with Mark Ruffalo so this is disappointing.

There's our first long lean official glimpse at Andy Garfield
in his Spider-Man costume, via EW's cover.

I Am Link

.
--- Hey Look - Channing Tatum shaved his head. I have no idea what it's for, if it's for a role or whatever, but I want to rub my hands (or you know, my whatever) all over it, I know that much.

--- Three Peeks - DH has descriptions of a few trailers we'll be seeing soon - namely The Dark Knight Rises (which is already leaked online in a crappy pirated version, I watched it this morning but the copy I saw's already gone so search around maybe you can still find it), The Amazing Spider-Man (which'll be shown at ComiCon, and excuse me while I groan at the apparent extensive inclusion of origin story in it - is there anyone on Earth who needs to see him get bitten by the spider at this point?), and the first trailer for John Carter Sans Mars (I think that's what I'm calling it from now on), which is supposedly showing up "with select copies" of Harry Potter this weekend. I better be seeing a "select" fucking copy then.

--- Future Man - There aren't any shots of Colin Farrell or any of the other actors in the Total Recall remake in these pictures from the film's now-shooting set, but there are some amusing looks at the costumes the police extras have to wear. Very TRON meets storm-trooper.

--- Latest Final - BD has a rather extensive (that's code for "I only skimmed it") set report from the latest Final Destination movie, which I am officially so excited for I could barf. As I say every time this franchise comes up, I hope I'm seeing new films from this series every other year for the rest of my life.

--- Suicide Laughs - I must've heard about this project earlier but forgotten - Kristen Wiig is teaming up with the filmmakers behind American Splendor to make a dark comedy about a girl who pretends to try to kill herself to win a dude back, a scheme which backfires and gets her sent to live with her estranged mother. This sounds like exactly what she should be doing, so I am there. It's also kind of reminiscent of the darker edges of Bridesmaids - that character was forced by sad circumstances to move home and deal with her mother too. I sense a theme! Kristen Wiig hates her mother.

--- Hero Boobs - This is my sort of literature! io9 gathered up all the examples of Marvel movie superhero men taking off their clothes that they could think of in one hot spot destination post. Chris Evans as Johnny Storm and Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, they got them all oh wait they forgot a couple which I will now bitch about, that's right. Just off the top of my head they left off Thomas Jane as The Punisher, they left off Eric Bana in the first Hulk movie (although they do give love to Ed Norton in the last film), and they left off Daniel Cudmore as Colossus in X2.

Y'all have a good weekend - as of this minute I'm walking down the stairs, out the door, down the street to the water, jumping in and swimming straight for Maui where Andrew Garfield and Garrett Hedlund have been spotted enjoying sexy splash-time together. See ya! (via)

(via) I will be the peanut butter to your chocolate milk, Andy Garfield. I don't really know what that means, but we can figure something out.

I Am Link

.
--- The Lovers, The Dreamers - You can see a photograph of the poster for The Greatest Muppet Movie Made over at AICN, along with word that one of the original songs written for the film is already making grown men burst into tears. Hooray! November 23rd can't get here soon enough.

--- Sob Story - Hooray for praise of Barbara Hershey's performance in Beaches at The Film Experience! Her work really was overshadowed by her lip injections at the time; cornball lady-hysteria aside, she's wonderful in the movie. It makes me short of breath just thinking about the scene where she collapses for the first time, so well does she sell the sickness.

--- The Kings Layer - I haven't watched last night's Game of Thrones yet but I hear there was lots of gratuitousness right up my alley to behold so I'm looking forward to it. For now, we can read this interview from this past Friday at PopWrap with the Kingslayer himself, Nicolaj Coster-Waldau.

--- I See A Samuel - Over at Stale Popcorn, Glenn takes a look at some movie called Road Train, and by "takes a look at" I means posts several pictures of its star Xavier Samuel, last seen by me in 2010's best horror movie The Loved Ones, looking mighty fine.

--- Coop On Chris - Over at Low Resolution, Joe lists the eventual blockbusters still coming out this Summer in order of preference. Special shout-out to the never-stops-being-completely-hysterical shot of Dominic Cooper checking out Chris Evans' pecs in the Captain America trailer is given. Word.

--- Wood Man - It went through about thirty different actors hands, but Snow White and the Huntsman finally has its Huntsman - Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth will star opposite Kristen Stewart as SW and Charlize Theron as the Wicked Queen. I've avoided the Twilight movies like the plague so I don't necessarily dislike Kristen Stewart, but I'm still hoping with those stars attached that Hemsworth and Theron toss her out a window and end the film in each other's arms. Because that'd be HOT.

--- A New Riding - I guess if anybody could maybe make a coherent script for a remake of the terrific British TV trilogy Red Riding, I guess it could be the guy who wrote Zodiac, with its thousand characters and dangling strands. I say they rehire Andrew Garfield for it! And then make him walk around in his little underpants again.

--- Just Josh - Josh Duhamel's signed on for a couple of movies, and this will be the last time you'll hear me mention either of them until the pictures of him with his clothes off in said movies arrive.

--- More Monsters - The original director Gareth Edwards will only produce, he's busy trying to make that Godzilla movie, but a sequel to last year's cost-nothing success Monsters is gonna get made. One of the other producers says they'll be making "much more of a straight genre picture" and "upping the ante," so basically they're planning on canceling out everything that made the first film unique. Mkay.

--- Canadian Idol - Ryan Gosling is becoming a director. I guess we should've seen this coming. He's set to star in and direct a remake of Taylor Hackford's 1980 film The Idolmaker, about the rock n' roll promoter Bob Marcucci, who discovered Frankie Avalon.

--- Pretty Vacuum - Kellan Lutz, Shiloh Fernandez, and Amber Heard are going to star in a movie together. I mean, I'm not sure if it'll be the sheer force of prettiness or the vacuum of the absence of acting skills that'll destroy the world when this happens, but it'll be one of those two. Perhaps the union?

--- Two Tom Cats - Joel Edgerton - see his recent gratuitous post here - and Luke Evans, who is totally 100% straight or something, are both up for the role Ben Affleck almost took, Tom Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby.

--- And finally, have you seen the original ending to Alexander Payne's Election yet? (via Slash) It's terrible. Terrible! It might be the best example I've ever seen of test audiences working out for the best, because the ending they actually came up with for the finished film is about twenty-thousand times better than this.
